Analysis of Political Economy for Higher Education/TVET in Malaysia

Tana together with IMC have been appointed by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to conduct a political economy analysis for Malaysia, including assessments of any reforms and issues that may affect programme delivery and outcomes for the programme.

The overall objectives of this study are to: (1) consider the drivers of change for political reforms in Malaysia; (2) understand the government dynamics in Malaysia, and the implications for education and TVET reforms relevant to inclusive growth; (3) assess the ability and commitment to implement policy reforms, at national and sub-national level; (4) help ensure that programming design and delivery options are achievable; and (5) identify what other relevant donor and donor-funded activity is currently taking place in Malaysia.
