Mekuria Alemu Haile holds an LLB from the University of Mekelle and LLM from the University of Amsterdam (in collaboration with the University of Mekelle). Mekuria brings considerable prosecution experience to the project, having served as a chief public prosecutor at the Federal Attorney General office. He has been involved in the investigation and prosecution of high-profile criminal cases, involving grand corruption, money laundering, the financing of terrorism, and the trafficking of drugs and of human beings. Mekuria was a member of the asset recovery investigation task force, tasked with tracing proceeds of crime and outflows from Ethiopia He is keenly aware of the capacity building needs of law enforcement and regulatory authorities.
