Mid-term Review of the Accelerating Wind Power Generation in Ethiopia Programme
The Accelerating Wind Power Generation in Ethiopia Programme (AWPGE) has been designed with the objective of strengthening the institutional capacity of GoE agencies in the energy sector to accelerate wind power generation, including through a comprehensive wind measurement campaign and realisation of the first Ethiopian Independent Power Producers (IPPs) wind auction.
In this review, Tana assesses (i) progress in achieving outputs and outcomes (results) related to the AWPGE’s 3 components, (ii) relevance in terms of alignment with the strategic development objectives of Ethiopia as recipient and Denmark, (iii) success factors and constraints, (iv) the sustainability of the current institutional and partnership framework, and (v) specific recommendations for possible corrections and enhancements.
